Overview
The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat

In May 2023, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) joined the OCHA/UNDP Connecting Business initiative (CBi). The partnership between CBi and PIFS will strengthen private sector disaster preparedness, response, and recovery consistent with PIFS’s Framework for Resilient Development (FRDP), an integrated and multi-stakeholder approach inclusive of the private sector to climate change and disaster risk management.

The Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) is an international organization dedicated to fostering cooperation between governments, collaborating with international agencies, and representing the interests of its members toward the vision of peace, harmony, security, social inclusion, and prosperity. As the Pacific Islands rank amongst the most vulnerable, exposed to cyclones, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and compounded by the impacts of climate change, a strong focus has been placed on facilitating and increasing capacity for a multi-actor response to climate change and disaster risk.
