The OCHA-UNDP Connecting Business Initiative (CBI) was born after the World Humanitarian Summit in 2016, out of the desire for there to be a connector or a bridge between the United Nations, the humanitarian and development systems, and the private sector. Today, CBI is a prime example of collective action, focused on engaging the private sector before, during, and after emergencies.

In the geopolitical context, this work is more critical than ever for humanitarian action and to foster resilience.

Examples of innovative partnerships and good practices relative to business engagement in disaster management are one way CBI has always put the work of its Member Networks and partners forward, to inspire further collective action and change.

In this context, CBI will host a special virtual Private Sector Resilience Forum to mark its 10 years of operations: “A Decade of Impact: Business Driving Crisis Resilience”
