OCHA & UNDP Mandates
Sitting at the intersection of the OCHA and UNDP mandates, CBI engages the private sector before, during and after emergencies, covering the whole disaster management and crisis resilience spectrum.
OCHA MANDATE
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is to mobilize and coordinate principled international disaster and emergency relief. Rooted in the UN General Assembly Resolution 46/182, its core functions include humanitarian coordination, policy development and advocacy for people affected by crises.
UNDP MANDATE
The mandate of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is to help countries eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion and build resilience to sustain long-term progress. Established by the UN General Assembly in 1965, it acts as the global network’s lead agency for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
