Introduction to the Humanitarian System for the Private Sector

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Connecting Business initiative (CBi) are co-hosting a one-hour introduction to the humanitarian system for the private sector. Participants will learn about the actors, coordination mechanisms, and relevant legal and policy frameworks that make up the global system of humanitarian response. We will focus on how the private sector can work alongside governments and United Nations entities to support emergency response efforts, highlighting examples and lessons learned from around the world. The webinar will conclude with suggestions for how companies can deepen their engagement at the local, national, and global levels.

This event will also mark the launch of a new publication from OCHA and CBi, Business Brief: Introduction to the Humanitarian System.

Please note that the webinar will be held at two separate times to accommodate participation in multiple time zones.

Please note: this event is not intended to explore or connect suppliers to procurement or contractual opportunities. If you are interested in doing business with the United Nations, please visit the United Nations Global Marketplace.
